Every business I've run has needed its website to do one job: bring the work in. For years I paid agencies and SEO specialists to make that happen, well over £50,000 across my businesses. Some did a decent job. Too often I got a monthly report full of jargon and couldn't see what I was getting for the money.
So I learned it myself. I rebuilt my own business's website, and I run its SEO, Google Ads and analytics. Since I took it over, the visits it gets from Google searches have more than doubled, and it shows on the first page of Google for many of its main search phrases.
